Pediatric Doctor in Kolkata

We consulted a doctor in January 2022, as my son developed swelling and pain of private part who advised me that it needs Preputial reconstruction or Circumcision. We got worried and then consulted Dr Rishavdeb Patra. He saw my son and removed the pus collected below the skin. On our next visit in February, he retracted the skin backwards and explained us how to do at home. We are now able to push the skin backwards and clean it. We are now relieved. I would advise everyone to get a second opinion before you get Circumcision or Preputial reconstruction done by any doctor.

We consulted Dr Rishavdeb Patra, in March 2022 for my daughter for Gall bladder microcalculi. We were advised immediate operation by a surgeon. Dr Patra prescribed medicines and advised dietary restrictions and told us to repeat LFT & ultrasound after 2 months. We consulted Dr Rishavdeb Patra on August 2022 for scrotal swelling of my 5yr old son. Doctor told that it is encysted hydrocele and need to be operated. Initially we were very anxious regarding operation. Doctor explained us in details to whatever we had queries. This removed all our anxiety. He retracted the the skin backwards and told us to do the same and clean with water. We are very grateful to Dr Rishavdeb Patra for the same. We were saved from an operation which was not required. I had also visited Dr. Patra many years back when my elder daughter was around 3 years old. She was having fissure (initial stage), we were referred to him by another child specialist. After check, he advised to put an ointment and revisit if the issue persisted. The problem subsided and the child could pass stool without pain. We did not need surgery and did not even visit again for the same purpose. I salute Dr. Patra's honesty while dealing with patients. He truly follows ethics while putting aside material considerations. He is immensely skillful and vastly experienced. I feel, he is an asset for all of us living in Kolkata.

Dr. Performed a critical Branchial Sinus operation for our delicate 10 month old baby. He took extra care and precautions knowing that our baby has atopic dermatitis and thus hypersensitive. My daughter got accidentally burnt in her chest and some portion of neck. She is just 2 years of age. She is being treated by Dr. Rishavdeb Patra and she has recovered a lot from the trauma. Let me share the story and our experience in brief. I will highly recommend Dr Rishavdeb Patra for any kind of consultation. The incident happened on 25 Feb, Thursday. We first took her to a renouned child speciality hospital where she was diagnosed for 3.5 days. On Sunday morning we found that my daughter was in immense pain and high fever. We then visited Doctor Rishavdeb Patra on 28 Feb afternoon and it was not difficult to get his appointment. He was so caring and we realized that my daughter was wrongly treated for the first few days which resulted in huge infection and the burn even went worse. Dr. Rishavdeb Patra was very kind to us. He bandaged the entire chest area with all required medications and spent at least an hour to make us understand the line of treatment and how we should take care of my daughter in this criticial time. He was very particular about the details and were releived because ultimately we were confident that we are now in right hands. Beleive me my daughter started recovering from evening of 28th Feb, Sunday. Her fever was gone in next couple of days. We have been visiting Dr. Rishavdeb Patra continuosly to change her bandage and everything. It's been 2 weeks now and my daughter have recovered from infection, the first layer of skin is back and she is no pain. It may take months to get back the normal skin but we are confident that everything will be fine very soon. I am thankful to Dr. Rishavdeb Patra for saving my daughter. He is so caring, detailed and most importantly a great human being. I wish there have been more doctors like Dr. Rishavdeb Patra in West Bengal.

Usg showed the appendix .We were highly pacified when the doctor gave medicine and dietary advice. After a fortnight repeat usg showed no appendix.
